I don’t have anything else to do this summer anyway! (Except help plan a conference, attend GLMA, plan lessons for next school year, read books and write questions for Helen Ruffin Reading Bowl….)
It’s going to be a glorious adventure!

What have I gotten myself into? When the opportunity first came up to apply to KSU’s Ed.S. program in instructional technology, it made perfect sense! What better “next step” for a library media specialist than to learn to be a technology coach for colleagues? I was beginning to feel a little frustrated at school because there were so many things I knew about, but didn’t really understand. So much cool technology, so many new tools and strategies – it’s overwhelming trying to keep up. I love my job, and I want to be the best I can be for “my kids.” My colleagues and friends thought it was a great idea. My principal said, “Where do I sign?” My children said, “Go for it, Mom!” (although the younger one, a current college student, worries a bit). So I jumped in, gathered all the documentation. Accepted? Great! Oh wait, now I have to do something. Online orientation? Well, I’ve done online PD before, that shouldn’t be too hard. Register for classes? Oh, right. It’s really three every term? Ummmmm… (I don’t have a life, anyway, that’s not already school related). Pay fees & look for financial aid? Well, I do a FAFSA every year for the kid, so…. Yeah. Assignments? Before class actually starts? Ohhh kaaay….

LOL! You are such an enjoyable read! Your voice comes through, and I could even hear it as if you were reading it to me. :-) I'm still skeptical that we made the right choice to dive into all this, but I'm having fun for the most part...just horribly stressed with balancing--or trying to--life, work, and school. Procrastinating my assignment that's due tonight too. SHEESH!
